YOU'VE GOTTA TRY THIS!!! THURSDAY

I've got to admit...I almost forgot to do this this week!! So, without further ado, here is my YOU'VE GOT TO TRY THIS!!!

I thought I would post a favorite (easy) recipe that my family and neighbors like:

Sopapilla Cheesecake

2 cans Pillsbury crescent rolls
2 8oz packages of cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1 stick butter
cinnamon/sugar

Directions: Unroll 1 can of crescent rolls. Press into bottom of 9x13 pan that has been sprayed with Pam. Mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. Spread over rolls. Unroll the second can of crescent rolls and place over cream cheese layer. Melt butter and pour over cake. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over top. Bake in 350 degree over until golden brown (about 20 minutes). We like it best chilled, so refrigerate after cooking. YUMMY!! ENJOY!!

Now it's your turn! What is your YOU'VE GOT TO TRY THIS!!?? Remember to either leave it as a comment in my comments section, or write it on your own blog and post the link to your blog entry in my comments section!!

I do like that cheesecake recipe; my mom has made it before and it's yummy! I'll have to try to think of something to add on her for a "you've gotta try this". I'm a little tired right now and I'm not thinking too creatively. I'm sure it'll be a Rachel Ray recipe though. As I type this I started thinking that either her meatloaf muffins would be great or Paula Dean's Lady and Sons lasagna (both are delicious). Maybe I'll get on tomorrow and post both! :)

My favorite easy recipe is a pasta salad - we make this for dinner on nights when we're too tired to cook anything complicated.

INGREDIENTS:
- Bowtie Pasta
- Jar of pesto sauce
- Large can of chicken
- Small bag of chopped walnuts
- Feta cheese

DIRECTIONS:
Cook the pasta as directed. At the same time, saute the chicken in a small pan unil no longer pink, and break it up into smaller pieces. Once the pasta is done cooking, drain it and add the chicken and pesto sauce. Stir until well-mixed. Pour into your serving container and scatter the walnuts and feta cheese over the top. Enjoy!

Ok, I put my recipe on my blog, but I just put a link to it and a picture. It's Paula Deen's lasagna. Here's my link http://koinerfamily.wordpress.com/2008/02/09/82/

WOW- that sound excellent, I might just have to make a run to the store for the crescent rolls- I have everything else!!!

Mine is-
Homemade Donuts

One can of the cheap, little dinner rolls
powdered sugar
water

Heat oil at medium for frying in a pan on the stove. Use a bottletop or smallest biscuit cutter to cut holes in rolls. Drop holes and donuts into oil, only a couple at a time. When light brown, turn over.
Put browned donuts and holes on a cooling rack, so they can dry.
Mix powdered sugar with a little water for the glaze. Dip and roll donuts and holes in glaze. Let set for a minute and enjoy!!!

My mom made sopapilla cheesecake for a Christmas brunch this year and it was yummy. I don't have a new "gotta try this" for this week, but here is a recipe I put on my blog a while back. http://newman-four.blogspot.com/2007/09/first-food-post.html
