Conversation with my son:

Me: (In my sweetest mother voice) Kennan, please pick up your trains from the middle of the kitchen floor.

K: ... (busily playing with cars...not the trains)

Me: Kennan, please pick up your trains.

K: Mom, this is ridiculous.

Me: (Trying not to laugh hysterically) Kennan, please do as I asked.

K: (Stomps off to his room to get the train basket) Hmmph!!!

Do I have a teenager on my hands already????

It's funny how fast they pick up things like that. Nathan already purposely ignores me when I ask him to do things. I also have a hard time not laughing when he's sassy to me.

Yes, they do grow up too quickly. Sometimes I hear Evan give the same excuse that I sometimes give to him. Like, Just a minute. Evan constantly says that when I ask him to do something. Which is also something I say to him all too often. I've got to start watching that.

Glad to hear Kennan liked preschool!

Oh, goodness!! That is funny stuff. I hear that kind of thing all the time, too and it is funny because they are not trying to be really disrespectful, they are just repeating what they have heard someone else (usually ME!) says.
Really cute!

Avery has taken to telling me, "You're not saying the right thing" when an answer of mine is not to her liking. Hang in there! There will be many times that you feel like you have a teenager before you actually do. Just wait until Brayden is acting up. Girls can act so hormonal, even in their preschool years. :-)

stinkin' hilarious! Now, which one of you says "this is ridiculous"?

Scared by what Lori said -- hormonal preschoolers?! HELP!

Ah yes, where do they get it? Heard tonight at our dinner table: "Mom, something has to change here. I'm expecting you to give me your chair." ?? I don't think she's echoing either one of us--school?
