Tonight is the first of many dinner nights we have planned at our house. Kenny and I had this idea after he got the job at the church...invite members of the church over to our house for dinner so that we can get to know everyone a little bit better. You can do things like this with a small congregation.
I am not second guessing our decision...I know it will be fun...I just hope everyone has a nice time, the meal is good, and my kids behave!
So let Potluck at the Pastor's Place commence!!!

I tagged you!
Well, what are you cooking?
We've thought of doing the same thing, but I'm waiting for my house to be decent first...so maybe this fall? :)
Let me know how it goes!
Hope you have fun! One tip, though, based on my parents' experience doing the same thing when my dad moved into a leadership position: Make sure the congregation knows that you're not schduling the dinners according to some order of favorite people. Your congregation probably isn't that insecure, but my dad encountered all these anxious people trying to figure out why the first ones got invited first and the last ones were last, when it was completely randomized.
what a great idea! a very good way to get to know people better. matt and i just started hosting the high schoolers coming to our house every monday night for movie night. we had the first one monday and it was a really good turn out. i think this will help me get to know the high schoolers better! and i'm sure everyone will have a great time at your home!
