More Christmas Pictures

Here are the long awaited pictures from Christmas morning. I have been a bit overwhelmed with all the pictures we have taken and the fact that they are on 3 different computers. I think I am working it out, but this will have to do for now. We took a trip to Abilene this weekend and I have some fun pictures from that trip to share next time.

Christmas Pics, first battle wound, and an update!!

DISCLAIMER: I have just uploaded a TON of pictures! Don't feel bad if you don't want to look at them all, but at least look at the last two. Also, all of the pictures from Christmas morning are on Kenny's mom's camera. I will get them from her this weekend.

Brayden's first battle wound. It was caused by her brother, but I am happy to report it was an accident. I would much rather her first "boo boo" to be be accident rather than vengence!!
She is still a happy baby!!
I wish I had the pictures from Christmas morning of the kids opening their gifts. Brayden got some clothes and new toys, while Kennan got lots of toys! Kenny made off with some new books and movies, while I got some stationary, books, and bath stuff. We had a great Christmas and it was fun to celebrate it with Kennan this year. He was a lot more aware of what was going on and understood the meaning behind it all. He had fun singing "Silent Night" by candlelight at church and reminding us of "Go Tell it on the Mountain" while in the bathtub and shower. We are looking forward to the next few weeks in Texas. We plan on spending lots of time with friends and family. Kenny is even preaching a few times and Brayden is going to get baptized at the end of January (if you want more details about that, let me know). An update on my cousin Stephen...he had surgery on Christmas night and it went really well. He should be back at his apartment by now, under the care of his mom...the rest of his family flew back this morning. We hope to send him a gift today and continue to pray for his healing.

Merry Christmas and a prayer request

We have had a wonderful few days of celebrating Christmas with friends and family. Pictures too come soon...

Prayer Request...My cousin Stephen plays basketball for the University of Hawaii. He had practice this afternoon (why on Christmas??) and fell and broke his leg in 3 places. My aunt, uncle, cousin, and his grandmother were all there and were supposed to fly back tonight. The good news is that they bought flight insurance and were able to cancel their flight. Stephen will probably be having surgery and this has ended his basketball season (he was a senior). He just graduated and proposed to his girlfriend all in the last 2 weeks. Please pray for his healing, pain, and the frustration and disappointment he must be feeling about basketball.

Thanks friends! Merry Christmas!

We made it!!

So here is my airplane story (all times are Eastern Standard)...I checked online at 3:30pm and our flight was on time. We leave our place (an hour from the airport) at 4:45. We get to the Newark airport at 5:45pm for a 7:30 flight. As we were checking bags, we learned that our flight had been delayed until 9:00pm. YIKES! That is a 1 1/2 hour delay. So, we find a toy store and Kennan plays for awhile, then we go on to have a nice leasurely dinner. We get to the gate at 7:45 so I could feed Brayden. We boarded the plane at 9:30pm and go out to the runway. At 10:00pm the pilot comes on to say we are 20th in line for departure and will take off in the next 30 minutes. Another YIKES!! We finally get to Texas at 12:45am (Texas time) which is 1:45 in NJ. We are in the car by 1:15 and in bed by 2:00am (which is 3:00am in NJ). So 9 hours later we arrive at our destination...

But, I saved the good news for last. Our kids were AMAZING!!! Kennan loved the toy store, enjoyed his yummy pizza dinner, and watched a movie in the airport (courtesy of Lala's DVD player). On the plane, he played and looked out the window. He finally fell asleep at about 11:15pm after a bribe that included some $3 chips. You gotta do what you gotta do!! Brayden was also an angel. She talked up a storm, giggled, and laughed the whole time...unless she was sleeping. She made some new friends at the airport and slept for about 2 hours on the plane.

It was a ROUGH evening/night/early morning. But, I am thankful for my kids and my sweet, patient husband. We are here and looking forward to the next month in the great state of Texas!!!

We celebrated our NJ Christmas this morning. We are leaving for Texas tomorrow (YIPPEE) and wanted to have our family celebration here before we left. Kennan gets some time to play with his new things from us and Santa (yes, Santa came early JUST for us) before we leave tomorrow night.

Happy NJ Christmas Brayden!
Kennan's first look at all of the gifts under the tree

Kennan gave Brayden a ball for Christmas. It was completely his idea and she loved it!
Until she found the excavator that he got and decided it was more fun!!

We are so excited about tomorrow. I am not at all looking forward to the plane ride though. We are leaving at 7:30pm and praying that the kids sleep. Kenny's mom let us borrow her DVD player, so hopefully Kennan will watch a movie and fall asleep (Santa brought him his own head phones...isn't he smart!). I know we will have a lot more to post in the next few weeks with celebrations with family and friends. I updated the kids' websites if you are interested in more pictures and details about the last few weeks at our house. Merry Christmas everyone!
