Thanks again, Pinterest!

I got together with a few girl friends earlier in the week and we made a felt Christmas tree that a few of us had seen on Pinterest. It was way fun and super easy and a great time with friends. The kids have loved playing with it. My only compliant is that it did not hang well with the Command poster strips. I ended up using some thumbtacks today so hopefully it will hold better, but also means I have to keep a close eye on Grayson!!

Kennan's favorite...
Here's a link to it on Pinterest...

You have GOT to try these rolls!!!! Super yummy and super easy!
I've made them twice and they've been great each time. If I can do it, you can too!

Thanksgiving Feast

Brayden had her Thanksgiving feast at school on Friday...

I'm pretty sure she would have given it a two thumbs up if she wasn't so busy eating!

Brayden wrote her own song today!

Grayson was inspired by his big sister!

Who knew Kenny and I would have 3 children with so much musical talent? :)

20 Months Old

Our sweet baby boy turned 20 months on the 9th of November. I cannot believe it!
Grayson continues to make us laugh. {Pretty obvious from this picture!}
Grayson loves to pray. He is the one to remind us when we sit down to eat and he always yells "AMEN!" before the prayer is over. {Not sure why this is underlined...}
He still loves his bubba and sissy and misses them while they are at school. This picture was taken after he found Brayden's sour punch straws...he was so proud of himself!
Grayson is great at playing by himself and likes to pretend. He loves cars, trains....
and swords!
We love our sweet Grayson Benjamin and can't believe he is only 4 months away from turning 2 years old. I hope time slows down just a little before then!

Newest Member of our Family!

Kennan started taking piano at the beginning of the school year. He is loving it and has already learned so much! So when I found a good deal on a piano, we jumped on it! We surprised the kids with it one day after school!
{For the record, when I told Brayden there was a surprise for them at home she informed me that no matter what it was, she was going to scream. Well, she did!}
Our little pianist...
Silly kids! I guess this is the new way to play?

Thank You Pinterest!!

So, last week we had a very light dusting of snow. The problem was that it was a really wet snow and some of the tree branches got pretty heavy. We lost a branch in the backyard and it came in handy today!!
I got the idea off of Pinterest to do a Thankful Tree, and since today is the first of November I decided today was the day to put it together. Before Kenny headed into work this morning he picked some smaller branches off of our fallen branch. I stuck them in a vase with some rocks I already had...so far this project has cost me nothing!!
I found some paper in my scrapbooking supplies and cut them into 2 x 2.5 in rectangles.
I rounded off the corners with a paper punch, punched a hole and tied on some ribbon.
{I had to purchase the ribbon at Walmart - it only cost $.47!!!}
I had some help with the stamps...he threatened me not to put this picture on Facebook!! {Little does he know I have this blog too!!}
These will hang on the branches after we write what we are thankful for.
The kids loved writing on them tonight! {We helped Brayden with the writing.}

Here's the final product {and it only cost me $.47!!}
The picture isn't great with the shadows of the branches, but you get the idea.
We are looking forward to working with the kids this month on talking about and remembering what we are thankful for!

Trunk or Treat

Despite the cold weather and wind last night, our church had it's 4th Annual Trunk or Treat. It's always a fun night and last night did not disappoint!

Here's our little Goofy... This sweet boy fell in love with Mickey Mouse and Goofy while we were at Disneyland this summer. However, he did not fall in love with his costume. I think it is adorable {thanks mom!!}
And here's our little cheerleader {thanks again, mom!}. When she puts this one it's like she is transformed into another girl! She's a prissy little thing!
Okay ladies, don't be jealous of my man...my Mickey Mouse, that is. Isn't this hilarious???
Here was our other trunk...
Our ninja {and once more, thanks mom!} and his daddy, Mickey Mouse...
Group shot! Brayden asked me a few days ago what I was going to be for Halloween and I told her I was just going to be a mom. She informed me that sometimes I am a mean mom... Thanks sweetie. I thought about wearing a sign that said, "I am a mean mom", but didn't.

A Milestone!

Kennan has had a loose tooth since June. Over the last few months it has gotten looser and looser. FINALLY...last Sunday during church he was wiggling it and it started to bleed a little so we left during Kenny's sermon. I will not get mom of the year for this one - I made him try and pull it out. {I do not do loose teeth-YUCK!} After a few unsuccessful attempts we went downstairs to children's church where a kindergarten teacher was. I was hoping she had some experience with loose teeth! We were in luck...Ms. Brandy pulled it in one try! Kennan was ecstatic, Ms. Brandy was honored to have pulled his first tooth, and I was relieved that I didn't have to do it!!!

Now the funny thing is that his permanent tooth has been growing in behind the loose baby tooth for the last month or so. {You can see it in this picture.} So, he has a "gap" from the lost tooth but there is already a new tooth!
Getting his tooth ready for the tooth fairy!
Monday morning Kennan woke up to a $5 bill and a bill from Greece. The tooth fairy left a note telling Kennan that she thought he might like to see some money from another country. He thought it was pretty awesome, but also didn't understand why he couldn't spend a 1,000 bill from Greece!!

Dance Party!

The kids had a little dance party the other day!
It was pretty hilarious...I think it's safe to say that Kennan and Brayden get their moves from Kenny and Grayson gets his from me!
{Please excuse the mess in the living room...I happen to think toys on the floor and a pile of clean laundry add to the party atmosphere!}

On the menu: pizza, carrots, ranch and grapes. YUM!

Laughter

Some say that
laughter is the
best medicine.
I happen
to
agree.
Disclaimer: The source of the laughter was a tooting cat on an iPad app.
It's the little things, right?

Neglected...

In the grand scheme of life, this blog has become lowest on the to do list.

Hmmm....I wonder why? Maybe it's:

My 3 kids who have some sort of need every minute of the day
{except for maybe the 10-12 hours they sleep at night}.

A hubby who needs support or help doing different tasks throughout the day
{and maybe that it feels like he's been out of town A LOT lately}.

A house that is a cycling tornado with messes and dirty laundry and dishes at every turn
{even though I try, I feel like I just can't keep up}.

My newest addiction to Pinterest.
{It took a while for me to jump on the bandwagon, but now that I have I can't seem to stop!}

Now, I'm not complaining...just explaining the lack of action on the old blog.
Here's to catching back up and seeing if anyone is still reading!!!
