15 Months!

I can't believe our sweet baby boy is 15 months old today!
Time is flying by and I wish so much that it would just slow down!
{This is kind of a hodge podge post with random little tidbits about our baby boy}.

Grayson is very curious. And adventurous.
Except for when it came to riding this pony. At first he was enjoying himself, barking at the pony, but as soon as it moved he freaked out! Kenny quickly pulled him off!
Grayson still isn't walking.
He does stand alone and will take a step or two here and there.
I think he could do it if he really wanted too...but he's not just there yet!

SUCCESS!
Grayson seems to be a creature of habit. He sleeps with the same blanket, plays with the same toys {usually Kennan and Brayden's...not his own!}, he always freaks out when someone is in the kitchen because it MUST be time to eat.
He looves to play with the popcorn popper, oil and seasonings. These seem to be his go-to entertainment whenever he needs something to do. On this particular day I caught him trying to stack them. He was successful!
He had a little help when it came to the top on this one. But it was hilarious when he picked up his foot to knock them over!
Grayson has a great, playful personality. He loves to play with the foam darts for Kennan's Nerf guns {you can see 2 of them going for a ride in the school bus in the pic below}. The other day I looked down the hall to see him with his pacifier in his hand and dart in his mouth. Silly boy!
Now for the boring stuff: Eating is going well...he usually eats anything put in front of him. If he doesn't like something he throws it on the floor immediately! He looves to drink milk and water. Grayson has 8 teeth and it doesn't look like anymore are coming anytime soon. He sleeps great - usually 7pm to 7am with a short morning nap and longer afternoon nap. We have a 15 month appointment scheduled for later in the month - can't wait to see how much he weighs!

Who Would Say That?

Out of the mouth of a Pastor's Kid {also known as a PK} during the children's sermon in the middle of worship...

Pastor: What kind of things might Jesus have done as a child?
PK: Tooted on his friend's faces?
Pastor: Hmmm, well let's not talk about that.

Any guesses on which one of my sweet, beautiful, precious children would have said that?
{It should be pretty easy since the baby doesn't talk in sentences yet...}

Our Game Plan

Last week I posted this and was looking for some ideas. Thanks to those of you who spoke up!
I took some of your ideas and some of my own to come up with our game plan for the summer.
Everything pretty much applies to Kennan and Brayden, as Grayson is too young. He's just along for the ride!
I thought I would share it with all of you!

Fridays are going to be our "out to lunch" day. It is so easy for me to want to go out to eat...I get bored with eating at home all the time. So, we decided Friday would be the day and we came up with some different places we'd like to go. Every Friday someone will draw a place and off we go!
The kids each get to pick a show to watch in the morning and then one in the afternoon.
They will also each get 30 minutes of computer time a day.
I took Mindy's idea of a activity/chore jar and made it into a "Boredom Basket". On each slip I wrote something different for them to do. If they are feeling bored they can draw a slip out of the basket and do what it says. Some are fun {15 extra computer minutes, write and mail a letter}. Others are not so fun {pick up the toy room, help mom with a chore}. They have to do what it says...good or bad! We haven't had to use it yet this week since we've been so busy!
Kennan and Brayden each have started a prayer journal. {This idea has 2 parts for me - encouraging the kids to be in prayer more and thinking of others and also keeping Kennan on top of his writing and spelling.} After breakfast and before TV/computer/playing they write and draw in their journal. I have encouraged them to pick a different person each day to say special prayers for, but so far they have pretty much stuck to a family at our church who just had a new baby. {No biggie....I figure they need lots of prayers right now!} Kennan is able to write and draw on his own, but I do the writing part for Brayden.
We have a few different activities planned throughout the summer. Library story time twice a week during June, soccer camp for Kennan, VBS, a few fun vacations, etc.
I plan to have the kids help out as much as possible. They are both pretty good helpers and it helps keep the sweet little girl in the picture below out of trouble!!
Monday will be our field trip days. It is Kenny's day off so he will be able to join in the fun! A few ideas we have are to go to a nearby town to enjoy their park and meet up with friends, go to the nursing home {thanks Amber!}, do a Meals on Wheels route, and a few others!
So, that's our plan! Hope this helps others who are looking not to fall into the too much TV/boredom/whining part of summer!

A Great Day!

We had a great first day of summer! It started off with Kennan at soccer camp. Then we drove to the big town to see a new baby! This sweet little girl is coming home to a house with 3 brothers! I think she already has everyone wrapped around her finger!
Then we went off to a Science Center. It was fabulous!
{I'm kinda bummed we've lived here for 3 years and never have been!!}

We ended the night visiting with some Seminary friends. They only live about 30 minutes away and we hardly ever see them. We had a yummy dinner and lots of play time!
Grayson loved playing with the girl toys, and was especially fond of the purple glasses!! HA!

Ready for Church!

Getting all three children {and myself} ready for church is becoming easier and easier. Since Kenny leaves for church a lot earlier than we do, I'm usually on my own. This morning we had some time to spare so I took some pictures of my cuties!

Grayson cheesing it up for the camera!

Brayden made this hat at a birthday party yesterday. I think she likes it! {She even slept in it last night! Ha!}

This was the best I could get of my first grader. He was laying on the couch watching a show...

We've been doing this for 3 years now! It's about time I got it figured out!!

The Last Day of School!

Have ideas about enjoying the summer and warding off boredom and whining? Chime in on this post PLEASE!

The computer I am working on doesn't have the pictures from August when school started, so if you want a flashback click here for Kennan's first day of Kindergarten post!

Today was the last day of school! I think in the end, Kennan had mixed feelings about it ending. He loved his teacher and everything about Kindergarten so he is sad it's over. But, he's also excited about the summer and all it is going to bring. He also isn't a huge fan of change and new things so I think the idea of a new teacher, new friends and a new classroom for first grade freaks him out a little bit.
{But don't tell him you heard that from me!}

Here he is before school. His class made this shirt last week and all put their hand prints on it. Pretty cute. All of the Kindergarteners wore them today!
And here he is after school. Kennan is in the back, running down the hill. These three boys were all in the same class and were pretty good buds. Everyday after school, me and the other moms couldn't wait to watch them run down the hill to us. Think it will always be like this? I hope so!

Kennan and Mason!

{This was Kennan jumping for joy that school was out. I was a little slow on the picture taking!}
Watch out First Grade! We will see you in 3 months!

The Big 3-0!

Have ideas about enjoying the summer and warding off boredom and whining? Chime in on this post PLEASE!

Today I celebrated the big 3-0! I am feeling pretty good about it!
Three kids, a great hubby, wonderful family, best job {staying home with the kids}, great house and church family.
I have no complaints!
Hey kids! Let's take a picture before we eat cake!
{This was the best we could get!}
Then we went and played a little disc golf. It was fun!

And we finished the night with some swimming, pizza and more cookie cake!

What a fun day!
Can't wait to see what the next year has in store!

I Need Your Advice!

If your house is anything like mine right now, you are finishing up the school year.
Everyone is ready for summer.
It's getting hot and you are staying busy.
I love the summer time! But there is something I dread...
Having all three children at home arguing, whining, bored.
I think you know where I am going with this.
Anyone else have these feelings?
Here is where all of my fabulous readers come in! {I know you are out there!}
What are your plans to not have this happen?
What do you have in place to limit TV/computer time?
What are your discipline/reward plans?
What will you do for {cheap} fun to not be in the house all the time?
Anything else you want to share?
Don't hold anything back!! I think we will all benefit from each other's advice!

Kindergarten Graduation!

Today my sweet baby boy graduated from Kindergarten.
I asked him all weekend, and even this morning, if he was sure he wanted to go to the first grade.
Believe it or not, he never thought twice about it.
"Yes, mom. I am ready!!", was always his answer.
My answer?
"Okay, baby boy. But can you just not grow up any faster than you already are?"

{In case you were wondering, we are roaring like lions.}
Grammy and Pops came in for graduation!
Kennan and his teacher
Watch out First Grade, here he comes!

Big Boy

Yesterday Kenny had the van running some errands with Brayden. They weren't back yet and it was time to pick Kennan up from school. So I loaded Grayson up in the little red car in Brayden's forward facing seat. (Grayson is still facing backwards in his seat in the van.) He thought it was the coolest thing ever. What a big boy!!

I will have to say he was pretty disappointed to be put back in his rear facing seat in the van during our next car ride!!!
