16 Months!!!

Tomorrow, July 9th, is our baby boy's 16 month birthday! I cannot believe it! He is growing up too fast and time just needs to slow down. We are trying to soak up all we can with him, since we don't plan to have any more kiddos. {Unless God gets the last laugh! Ha!}

Grayson is just the sweetest baby {or should I say toddler?} ever. I can't get enough of him. He looooves to give kisses and my day is made when he puckers up without even asking for one!
Grayson's vocabulary has EXPLODED in the last few weeks, as has his understanding of words and commands. His new words are NO {usually at Brayden, as she can't keep her hands off him}, car, choo-choo {for train}, bath {pronounced ba, which could also mean ball, book, or bubba}. There are many others, I just haven't been keeping very good track. We were driving home from the big city the other day and he starting yelling "choo choo choo!!" and sure enough, right out the window was a train! He loves to be read to and likes a color book, particularly the red page where he points to and says "shoes" and "car".
Grayson loves to be outside and in the middle of the action. He loves to wear hats and sunglasses, any accessory really. Grayson likes to put the ball on the tee when he goes outside to play. He usually hits the ball off the tee too! Grayson likes to be in the water and has already had his fair share of pool parties this summer!
Grayson can give some major looks. He has a great pouty face and it makes me laugh every time. He loves to blow bubbles in the water and blow raspberries {I think that's what he was doing in this picture}. He has also starting winking which is waaaay cute {you can see that video here}.
The biggest news is that I think it's safe to say Grayson is FINALLY walking! It's been a long time coming and he's been ready for weeks. But when crawling works so well, why try something else? I love watching him waddle around the house. He has pretty excellent balance so he hardly ever falls...guess that's what happens when you wait so long to walk! Maybe the permanent bruises on his knees will go away now!
We love you Grayson Benjamin and thank God for you everyday!

Happy birthday to Grayson. (Alice was born on the 9th of the month, too, so you're always celebrating milestones when we are). I liked how you said you were soaking up the time with him, then posted a shot in the water. :) He does look older all of the sudden, and in that last short I think he looks like Brayden (especially around the chin and cheeks). D you have thoughts on who looks like whom?

I think Grayson and Bethany would really get along. Every time we pass the railroad tracks she says "choo, choo" even if there's not a train. It won't be long until we're planning two year old birthday parties!!

Gretchen, I think he is a good mix of both Kennan and Brayden. But his face shape is the same as Brayden so most of the time I think he favors her more. His eyes are brown and K and B's are blue so that makes him look like his own person too!
