Father's Day

Walk a little plainer, Daddy,
Said a little boy so frail,
For I'm following in your footsteps,
And I don't want to fail.
Sometimes your steps are very plain,
Sometimes they're hard to see,
So walk a little plainer, Daddy,
For you are leading me.
I know that you once walked this way
Many, many years ago,
And what you did along the way
I'd really like to know.
For sometimes when I'm tempted,
I don't know what to do,
So walk a little plainer, Daddy;
You know I'm following you.
Some day when I'm grown up,
You are like I want to be.
Then I will have a little boy
Who'll want to follow me.
And I would want to lead him right
And help him to be true.
So walk a little plainer, Daddy,
I'm going to follow you.

I am married to the greatest man and he is a wonderful father to our son. I am so thankful that God has blessed Kennan and me with Kenny in our lives. I am thankful that Kenny will drop anything he is doing to play with Kennan, to read to him, to rock him to sleep. I love watching them together, whether they are digging in the sand box, building a tower out of blocks, or sitting on the couch reading a book. I am thankful that Kenny is a good example to Kennan of what a daddy should be, and how he should love his children and his wife.

I am also very blessed to have my father in my life. He has been such a great example to me. Growing up my dad always worked hard to provide for our family. He loved me unconditionally and taught me how to live with integrity. He showed me how a man should love and treat his wife by always having respect for my mom. Now I am lucky enough to share him with Kenny and Kennan. He is an incredible father-in-law and I know that Kenny loves to spend time with him. Kennan loves his Pops and it is so fun to watch them together.
